Hi,
We are moving to Stockholm from another country. We are both going to work in Stockholm. We want to keep our apartment in our hometown, and it has mortgage. so can we do tax deductions for this apartment's mortgage? by the way, we have another apartment than we rented out, so can we still do tax deductions for our first apartment's mortgage?
Hi,
Since you are moving to Sweden you will become unlimited taxable in Sweden which means that you can deduct the mortgage (interest). It is no problem that you rent out another apartment. Don´t forget to report the rental incomes in Sweden.
Kind regards

Hi Daniel,
Thank you. I have 2 more questions regarding your answer:
1- Can I only deduct interest or full mortgage payment?
2- Do I have to report rental income in my hometown? (Turkey)

Hi,
1 You can only deduct the interest,
2 It depends on the tax law in Turkey. If Turkey also tax the rental incomes, Sweden should credit the Turkish tax to avoid double taxation.
Kind regards
