Tax Deduction for Dual Residence
Hi,
I saw the question that is similar to our situation and I want to ask this question. Me and my wife moved to Sweden. Both of us are working here and we rented a house.
In our country we have three houses. We rented two of them. Both of them have a morgage.
Our third house is also have a morgage. We kept it and did not rent out this apartment. We are paying morgage and other bills of this house. In this situation, can we use dual residence deduction for our third house?

Hi!
You can deduct the interest in Sweden on all properties. Since you are living in Sweden, you should also report the rental incomes.
Kind regards

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your answer.
As I understand, I can deduct the interest of morgages. Can I write total amount of this interest to Avdrag – Kapital (8.1) part of Inkomstdeklaration ?
I also kept one of my apartment in my home country and I’m paying some bills such as electricity, water. I’m paying 15000 SEK monthly for my apartment in Sweden. My monthly residential expense in Sweden is more than my expense in my home country. Because of this, can I write total amount of my rent in Sweden (12*15000=180000 for 1 year) to Avdrag – Tjanst (2.3) part of Inkomstdeklaration ?

Hi,
It is correct you can deduct the interest and you write the total amount in box 8:1.
You may deduct that cost also but it depends on the situation. If you have a temporary assignment in Sweden, you make deduct the cost for temporary living in Sweden and you deduct the cost for your part of the rent in Sweden ie 7 500 SEK.
If the assignment is not temporary, you make deduct the cost for double homes in Sweden. Since your wife moved with you to Sweden, you should deduct the cost for the home in the other country.
Kind regards
